Oldest known photo

22nd July 2026 Webmaster

I’ve just added the oldest known photo of our club to one of our past champions, Dr Richard Jones who is in the photo seated second from left,  dated 1887-88. Seated on the right, by the chess board is F. M. Worsley one of the organisers of the first Hastings Chess Tournament of 1895.
